Lucie has ridden bikes for years, enjoying cycling for leisure and fitness. More recently she has been championing active travel and cycling for shorter utility trips. She is chair of Bournemouth-based campaign group BH Active Travel, working to improve walking and cycling facilities and infrastructure in the area. She set up the area’s first school bike bus.
“It wasn’t until the pandemic that the whole utility/short distance cycling thing grabbed my attention. I started campaigning for safer spaces to walk and cycle. Safe cycling spaces for women and children is a particular passion.”
